My name is Kris Childers and I am the new Professional Development Coordinator for ATPE (you may have known JennyK as your previous PD Coordinator).
Being a former classroom teacher and ATPE member, I'm very excited to be able to look at and learn about education from a different perspective. Teachers are always referring to "putting on different hats" throughout their careers. Now I have another one to add to the hat rack! I love education, kids, and teaching so I am thrilled I get to help educators in meeting their professional development needs.
In my spare time I enjoy reading, writing, swimming, spending time with my friends and family, and especially Longhorn football! Hook 'em! 
I look forward to learning about more ways to help new teachers face challenges throughout their first years on ATPE's Idea Exchange. I only wish I had access to a similar resource when I was a novice teacher!
