Throughout the upcoming year, the ATPE Idea Exchange moderator will select various professional development book titles and promote online discussions about best practices in the classroom based on ideas shared in these books. Read and discuss your thoughts on these books written to inspire professional growth—and earn continuing professional education (CPE) credit for each chapter read and discussed online (program requirements must be met for issuance of Continuing Professional Education Certificate of Completion). Discussion questions will be posted weekly on the ATPE Idea Exchange in the discussion thread titled “ATPE Book Circle—Earn CPE credit” in the ATPE Programs section.

To join the ATPE Book Circle program, simply register on the Idea Exchange as a member and begin posting your answers to discussion questions. Make sure to respond to all discussion questions for each book by the specified completion date for credit.

Requirements for issuance of CPE Certificate of Completion (PLEASE READ CAREFULLY):
Participant must demonstrate that he has read each chapter assigned by responding to the question for that week.
Participants may join the Book Circle at any point during the study but must catch up in their reading and question responses by the completion date to earn credit.
Participants must answer every question completely and thoughtfully, demonstrating a working knowledge of content information to earn credit for each week. The ATPE Book Circle moderator may ask participants to clarify their answers to demonstrate content mastery.
At any time, if a post is considered inappropriate by the moderator, the participant may be asked to discontinue program participation with no credit issued.
Continuing Professional Education Certificates will be issued to all participants who have completed these requirements. As per SBEC guidelines, ATPE is required to maintain records of all participants, including participants’ names, date and content of activity, and the number of clock hours that count toward satisfying CPE requirements. Do NOT post your private information online. A secure online form soliciting necessary information will be sent to you once you have completed the program.
Upon completion of program requisites, participants will be issued a Continuing Professional Education Certificate of Completion. All CPE hours earned can be used toward state teaching certification renewal requirements. ATPE is a certified State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC) provider of Continuing Professional Education credit (SBEC Provider ID# 500105).
